Mission
Promote multidisciplinary research in the field of piano pedagogy in order to
establish a better understanding of piano learning and piano teaching
processes.
Vision
Become the foremost authority in piano pedagogy research and
training.
Offer a world-class research laboratory distinguishing itself in
its quest for excellence, passion for knowledge, quality of learning
environment, drive for community leadership, and its national and international
presence.
Goals
Establish a common field of interest and facilitate collaborations among
researchers in a variety of disciplines, namely: music, education, cognitive
sciences, psychology, neuroscience, information technology, health sciences
and engineering.
Offer academic programs which will allow students to train in piano
pedagogy research and actively participate in the projects of multidisciplinary
teams associated with the Piano Lab.
Build significant partnerships with
other research institutions, piano teacher associations, and members of the
private sector.
