Collection
The Piano Pedagogy Research
Laboratory's resource centre houses a collection of more
than 400 theses, over 300 reference books, and 700 piano
scores from beginner to advanced levels, 370 of them
written by Canadian composers. The collection also
includes a large group of pedagogical materials for teaching piano to young children. More than 500 CDs, DVDs and videos present lectures and master classes, many using beginner or intermediary students.
The Resource
Centre also has an impressive accumulation of over 600
piano methods. Each method has many volumes, bringing
the total number of method books to 2,500, one of the
biggest collections in Canada. This part of the resource
centre collection has been acquired through generous
patron donations as well as purchases.
Resource
centre documents and materials can be searched in the
University of Ottawa library's on-line
catalogue and are
available to researchers attached to the Piano
Lab.
